Gonjasufi - The Caliph's Tea Party (2010)
Gonjasufi was introduced to the world thanks to his vocals on Flying Lotus' “Ancestors” off Los Angeles. From there, the two continued working together, particularly on the gravelly vocalist's sprawling and critically lauded debut, 2010's A Sufi and a Killer. The result was like acid for your ears as the sounds from FlyLo, Gaslamp Killer, and Mainframe creaked and floated behind Gonja's moans. But he and his label, Warp, weren't done with the album just yet as they commissioned 12 producers to remix tracks from the debut to create The Caliph's Tea Party.
