Baby Guru / Marginalia

Ενάμιση χρόνο μετά την πανευρωπαϊκή κυκλοφορία του “Pieces” οι Baby Guru επιστρέφουν με αποσκευές γεμάτες ενθουσιώδεις κριτικές, αξέχαστες εμπειρίες από τις συναυλίες τους σε Ελλάδα και εξωτερικό και πάνω από όλα με ολοκαίνουρια μουσική. Το τρίτο album τους “Marginalia” κυκλοφορεί σε ολόκληρη την Ευρώπη τον Μάρτιο του 2014 και είναι η πιο φιλόδοξη δισκογραφική δουλειά τους μέχρι σήμερα.
Το “Marginalia” δεν κινείται στα περιθώρια, αλλά δικαιολογεί τον τίτλο του επεκτείνοντας το μυαλό και το σώμα προς κάθε δυνατή κατεύθυνση μέσω της μουσικής του υπόστασης. Οι Prins Obi, King Elephant και Sir Kosmiche όπως πάντα είναι οι αποκλειστικοί δημιουργοί του album (σύνθεση, παραγωγή, ενορχήστρωση, ηχογραφήσεις) και με την βοήθεια του ανεπίσημου τέταρτου μέλους της μπάντας (Χριστίνα), επιχειρούν να συγχωνεύσουν την ποιοτική ποπ με τη μουσική των συνθεσάιζερ και τα καθηλωτικά grooves. Το mastering έγινε από τον Greg Calbi στo Sterling Sound στη Νέα Υόρκη. 11 κομμάτια αποτελούν το συμπαγή σκελετό του “Marginalia”, που χαρακτηρίζεται από λυρισμό, ηλεκτρισμένους, ατμοσφαιρικούς ήχους και ακαταμάχητες μελωδίες. Ανάμεσα σ’ αυτά και μια μικρή έκπληξη: το πρώτο κομμάτι που οι Baby Guru τραγουδούν στη μητρική τους γλώσσα.

Το “Marginalia” κυκλοφορεί σε βινύλιο, cd και digital album από την Inner Ear.

Plastic Flowers are a dream pop duo based in Thessaloniki, Greece and consist of George S. and Angel P. They are drawing influences from Radiohead and Sigur Ros to Slowdive and Led Zeppelin. During the past two years their music received praise from international press including BBC, Vice (magazine), Vogue (magazine) and many other blogs and magazines.
In 2013 they played South by Southwest and toured USA.

Sisyphus is the new name for the collaboration between Serengeti, Son Lux, and Sufjan Stevens (formally s/s/s), whose new project under this moniker is a self-titled album partly inspired by the art of Jim Hodges, and commissioned by the Walker Art Center and The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra’s Liquid Music series in Minneapolis/Saint Paul.

Massive Attack's Neil Davidge on his debut album: Slo Light

Although this marks Davidge’s first solo album, his credits extend back to the early '90s and production work with Massive Attack (Mezzanine, 100th Window, Heligoland), Xbox’s Halo 4 game, and film scores (Luc Besson’s Unleashed, Paul McGuigan’s Push). Davidge has also worked with boundary-pushing artists like Bowie, Cocteau Twins’ Elisbeth Fraser, Primal Scream, and Mos Def. Not surprisingly, the 13 tracks that comprise Slo Light are theatrical, cinematic, haunting, and a little unsettling. Featuring a roster of up and coming vocalists, Slo Light reflects Davidge’s collaborative credentials and deft touch with grand, complex arrangements. Before Slo Light, it might not have been so easy to detect or pinpoint Davidge’s sophisticated, sensuous touch. After Slo Light, it will be hard to miss.
